We are delighted to have teamed up with Cofresh to bring you these unbelievably more-isn Sour Cream & Chive Quinoa chips!

These are some of the tastiest snacks I've ever tried. And its not often you get sour cream & chive flavoured snacks that are vegan! I've had these plenty of times previously, and can be found in Holland and Barratt. I absolutely love them! They also make a very similar pack of humous / lentil ones. I found them in Tescos and very often get the tomato and basil flavoured ones. They're to die for, and I'd recommend them to anyone!

Supernutrients Banana Powder 150g (RRP £4)

Initially formed in 2006, Supernutrients is a family business based in Bath, now established as one of the major importers and wholesalers of superfood in Europe. Naturally sweet, it is ideal for dusting on desserts or blending with other nutrient-rich products to create great tasting milkshakes and smoothies.

I've seen this particular brand in Holland & Barratt before, they're reasonably priced and have a huge variety of products. I've purchased there coconut sugar before and it was lovely! I'm super excited to try this as I've never seed nor heard of it before!? I'm particularly curious as to how it will work with porridge/oatmeal. This is something I will definitely do a review on it in more depth later on, so watch this space!

This was the range of products found in The Vegan Kind box February 2015. I am so excited to use all of the products and continue to receive more. Vegan Makeup Brands (UK)

So I thought for todays blog post, I'd put together a list of vegan beauty brands, which i've researched on the internet. It's unknown whether to source is 100% reliable, but non the less I shall tell you about them any way.

  1. Lush Cosmetics - They clearly state on all/most of there products that they are vegan friendly, and they have a small collection on beauty products. I've used lots of there bath products and soaps however I'm yet to use there makeup. Next time I find myself in a lush store I will definitely pick up some cosmetics to try and let you know!  NOTES: Not Leaping Bunny approved. Some products not vegan, but all are vegetarian. They do not test on animals.
  2. E.L.F (Eyes Lips Face) - This is a product that is only available online in the UK - However, I am aware that it is available in store in the U.S. I have tried many of these products, and I have to say, they are of very high standard.. for such a cheap price! - I haven't recently bought anything, but from previous experience, there lip products are amazing! I may have to repurchase some products and do a separate blog post, so watch out! NOTES: Not Leaping Bunny approved, but they do not test on animals and no longer use animal ingredients. They did in the past use beeswax, lanolin etc. so you may find out of date information being discussed on old web pages.
  3. Uraban Decay - this is one of the few high end products that actually cater for vegan ethics, and for this I am very happy! Urban decay's products are of very high standard, and I love the very little collection of there makeup that I actually have. I would definitely recommend this brand. NOTES: Leaping Bunny approved. Some vegan items. See the Vegan section of their website for all suitable products.
  4. Barry M - I am aware that this product is easily reachable for a high number of people. You can find them in common drug stores like Boots and Superdrug. I haven't had much experience with this brand, other than there nail varnish. However, I'm sure it's quiet a popular brand and the prices are very reasonable. Not Leaping Bunny approved but no products are animal tested, some contain animal products (beeswax).
  5. BeautyUK - This brand isn't big in the UK, however I have seen it around before. From what I've seen these products are very reasonable in price, however I couldn't comment on the standards of these products because I've never used them. NOTES: Not Leaping Bunny approved. Don't test on animals, most products are vegetarian and vegan approved.
These are only a small selection of beauty brands available for vegans. As I'm sure, there are plenty more that I am yet to discover. I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll see you soon!

Vegan Blueberry Pancakes

These pancakes are vegan, healthy, tasty and more importantly easy to make!
So I assume you've seen my recipe 'Healthy pancakes' and might be thinking its the same thing? Nope, first of all.. these are completely vegan and are not made out of Weetabix! they taste completely different, look different and the texture is definitely not the same! (these ones are more cakey and thick, so if thats what you want.. keep reading!)
If you're vegan, and even if you're not.. these are a great alternative to the original unhealthy pancake recipes! So I hope you enjoy, and feel free to alter the recipe depending on preference, and I'll write some suggestions as we go :)

- 1/2 cup of oats
- 1/2 cup of wholemeal flour
- 1 tbsp of ground flax seed
- 2 tbsp of water
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1 cup of milk alternative
- 1-2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp of coconut oil or any oil
- (Optional Blueberries)

- Start by measuring out the flour and the oats, and blend together until all is combined and the oats are grinder into a flour. Alternatively, just 1 cup of wholemeal (or white) flour can be used if they suit your preferences.

- Next measure out the 1tbsp of ground flax seed and 2tbsp of water, put them in a separate dish and leave for the flax seed to soak up the water. This was cause the flax seed to read and 'egg like texture' watch will be the egg replacer for them to be vegan. Alternatively, if you're not vegan, just one egg can be used and it will work fine.

- Add all of the other ingredients, minus the oil and blueberries. The maple syrup can be changed for a coconut sugar, and normal white sugar, and kind of sweetener will do, and you can add the amount according to your own preferences. Similarly, any kind of milk can be used (if you're not vegan, cows milk will do) however almond milk, soya, hazelnut, any will do.

- At this point, you're flax seed should have formed into a gloopy like texture, add this to the rest of the ingredients and wizz up in your blender / food processor.

- After the mixture is blended, it should be quiet a thick texture, more milk can be added if needed, I would recommend it so be thick, but not too thick and the ending result is quiet cakey.

- Heat up your pan on medium heat with your desired oil, and spoon / ladle your mixture onto the pan.  Place 4-5 blueberries on the top of the pancake and push into the mixture. Wait approximately 60 seconds until bubbles start to form on the top and the ends look more firm. Test to see if your spatula can slide under and flip.

- Cook on the other side for another 60 seconds, or until it is cooked through, place on a plate and repeat until all the mixture is gone.

- You should get approximately 6 pancakes depending on size. Stack them up and drizzle them with maple syrup, or spread them with peanut butter, biscuit spread, top them with more fruit! Go wilddddddd.

I would love to know if anyone gives this recipe a try, and let me know how they turned out! I have been asked a few times If this was my weetabix recipe, but substituting the egg with flax, and after contemplating it, I think I will defiantly give it a try, I'll keep you updated if I do! Thank you so much for reading and I'll see you in my next post soon!

Accidentally Vegan Food

Just Because It's Vegan, Doesn't Mean It's Healthy

So I've searched high and low, for some home comforting 'vegan' food, and by this, I mean everyday food you can buy In Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda - things that aren't designed to be vegan.

So, My top find has to be.....
Lotus Biscuit Spread!! - Yes it states that it's vegan on the packaging, but it's still a huge surprise to me to find something so.. delicious and tasty, to be suitable for vegans, so when I found out I had to run to the shop and immediately buy it!! I literally have it every day.. on toast, on porridge, on fruit. My most recent discovery is to melt it and pour it on vegan ice-cream. . . you'll thank me later.

If you like your savoury hit's, BBQ pringles was another great find! BBQ sauce is legit my all time favourite, and put together with pringles = YUM. They're a great snack, on the go or with a lunch. They might not be healthy, but they're tastey and sometimes just what you need. Remember though. . not ALL pringles are vegan, so check them tubs for the flavours that are.

My easy go to lunch, will always be a bagel! - usually a cinnamon and raisin one with lotus biscuit spread *heart eyes* alternatively, top it with almond butter for a health kick. The mixture of sweet and salty so go together hand in hand. FAB

Dorset Cereals granola and muesli is another favourite of mine. In particularly the golden syrup one (tastes like flapjack!) and top it with coconut sugar and almond milk... mmmmmmfh. It's the perfect 'in the rush' breakfast when theres little time to spare in the mornings, and fancy something sweet!

Chocolate Bourbon Creams! Insane right?! I couldn't believe this when I saw they were vegan, I couldn't contain my excitement!! They're legit my favourite biscuits on the planet. They're definitely a treat worth having in the cupboard, especially when you need a quick (cheap) chocolate fix.. because lets be honest, vegan chocolate isn't cheap!

Need another chocolate fix? Coco Pops are another solution to that! Paired with almond milk, and you've got the tastiest vegan snack everrrrrr. And even after you've finished eating the crunchy chocolate pops, you're left with a creamy chocolate milk concoction ready for you to sluuuurp down!

And there's so many more, that I couldn't possible name them all. Who said being vegan was boring? Bland? Just vegetables.. Well you're so wrong.

New Years Resolutions - 2015

I can honestly say, that last year had some ups and downs. I experienced things I never dreamed of, met some amazing people, lost a few friends along the way, cried a few times. But it's safe to say, I've enjoyed my year, and I'm determined to make this one even better.

After recently starting college, I have some ambition in my life, making this, the year I work my butt off to go to uni next year and follow my dream of becoming a nutritionist. I have so many things to look forward to this year, so many things I want to experience, and it starts with now. I have 365 days to make an impact on the rest of my life, and I'm determined to do this.

New Year Resolution 1:
To go fully vegan, for a whole year. this is a challenge i've set myself, no giving in to temptation, no giving up when it gets difficult. I'm going to nourish my body with good, healthy food, and hopefully pursue it as a long term lifestyle.

New Year Resolution 2:
Leave anorexia in 2014, and make this the year I fully recover and make the most of my year.

New Year Resolution 2:
Be the best version of me I possibly can. Be kind to people, be generous, work hard for things that I want. Not to give into anxiety when it comes to opportunities and to be happy.

I'm truly, looking forward to the year ahead, and what it has to offer me. I want to try and update my blog once a week, if not more. So if anyone has any ideas I would love to know:) comment below or comment on my IG Vegan.Daisy

And I will see all you lovelies soon! Stay happy and enjoy your life x x x
