OOTD- Floral Kimono

 Hey guys. So today I have my very first, OOTD for you all, featuring this super pretty kimono I found in Newlook for a complete bargain!

I went for something quiet casually, yet not boring or plain. I'll be honest with you, It's a very wet a gloomy looking bank holiday and I hadn't planned on going anywhere.. but I love this outfit so I had to share it with you!


 So I found this very pretty and extravagant kimono in my local Newlook! I've been eyeing them up for a while and I couldn't quiet bring myself to get one, however when I saw how cheap this was, I just couldn't pass the offer.

So today I paired it with a plain black t-shirt, dark denim jeans and a pair of black low heeled sandals. I thought I would keep it simple to avoid taking any limelight away from this beautiful floral print.

It reminds me of the Caribbean, fabulous for my holiday in July! The main colour is a very deep, almost black navy blue, covered with a beautiful shade of green and purple flowers. It's just beautiful.

I paired this outfit with quiet a light makeup. I moisturized with a No7 moisturizer and applied the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer on any blemishes and under the eyes, a light layer of Mac blusher and Mac bronzer, Rimmel London Scandel Eyes mascara, Mac Matte eye shadow to fill in my brows and finished the look with an amplifying Mac lipstick - Girl About Town which I think compliments the deep colours on the kimono and making the whole look complete.

Product Review - New Graze Breakfast Box

As I'm sure about 90% of you have seen on instagram, graze have brought out a new breakfast box with a variety of granola's, muesli, cereal and porridge. - they previously had a breakfast box which only had about 8 flavours of porridge.. don't get me wrong, they were delicious, but they've gotten better:D

 So I ordered on a few weeks ago.. forgot to cancel it and another one arrive. I then found out that you could order a free one.. oops! So I have quiet a variety of flavours. They come in the same box as the normal graze orders and you receive four reasonably sized bags of each flavour. I have to say I was quiet surprised with the quantity compared to the previous breakfast boxes! So far, I have tried about 3-4 flavours. Off the top of my head, I remember trying the strawberries and cream (It had dried strawberries and yoghurt coated strawberry chunks in it.
OMG it was devine.)
I have also tried the chocolate and orange granola.. damn that was good stuff. I'm a sucker for chocolate and orange flavoured things.. just reminds me of terry's chocolate orange. YUM. I have to say It was honestly one of the most tantilizing, decedant flavours of granola I have ever tried. Also, being the fab daughter I am, I gave my dad the maple and pecan granola, It had big chunks of granola with maple covered pecans, I must say, it looked and smelled amazing.. (I was very jealous)

 I am yet to taste anymore of the amazing granola's they have to offer, but I must say I am excited! They have truely captured some of the most amazing flavour combinations I can think of, including.. Orange & Macadamia, Cherry & Almond (porridge), Rocky Road, Spiced Apple, Pecan & Walnut (porridge), Berry Crumble, Apple and Cinnamon (Porridge), Honey & Nuts. They all just sounds put of this world, as I'm sure they taste just as good too!

Vegan Cinnamon Roll Recipe

I made these a few days ago and oh lord they were amazing! They tasted exactly, if not better than the real things. I was very impressed with myself. The recipe is pretty simple and I found it online, so I take no credit for it what so ever! I'll try and link the original recipe at the end!

Average prep time: 60 minutes

Cook time: 25 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 packet of bread yeast
  • 1/2 cup of soya butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 cups of plain white flour
  • 1/2-1 tsp of cinnamon (depending on preference)
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
Method

  1. In a large bowl, heat your almond milk and 1/2 cup of butter in the microwave or over the hob. If you use the microwave I advise doing it 30 seconds at a time to avoid over heating. Wait for it too cool slightly then sprinkle in the packet of yeast and leave for approximately 10 minutes to activate. Then add 1 Tbsp of sugar and the 1/4 tsp of salt and stir.
  2. Add the flour, 1/2 a cup at a time and stir until all is mixed in. Continue doing this until all 3 cups of flour is used and the dough is very sticky and difficult to stir. You might want to start using your hands if a spoon becomes too difficult. Transfer onto a clean floured surface and knead for a few minutes until dough is soft a mixed well. Transfer it back into your clean mixing bowl (you might want to line it will some grease proof paper) and cover with clingfilm. Leave in a warm place for approximately 1 hour and the dough has doubled in size.
  3. Grab your risen dough and transfer onto a lightly floured surface and roll out into a rectangle shape, approximately 1 cm thick. Brush completely with 3 Tbsp of melted butter and sprinkle over 1/2-1 tsp of cinnamon and 1/4 cup of sugar. With a butter knife, spread the mixture evenly over the dough. It will look like a dark syrup at this point. I would recommend making it quiet a thick layer if you love cinnamon.
  4. Tightly roll up the dough into a long sausage shape and get a serrated (bread) knife, cut slices approximately 2 inches think and place into a greased oven proof dish. Repeat until all is gone and the dish is filled up. Brush over with melted butter and wrap again in cling film. Leave in a warm place to rise once again until the oven has pre-heated
  5. Turn oven on, I used fan setting on 180 degrees. Bake in the center of the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and looking fantabulous. 
When I made these, they smelt and tasted soso yummy! They might not be healthy, but they're a perfect treat and supppper easy to make! Once again, I take no credit what so ever for this recipe.. I did not invent it or anything! But I recommended it 10000% It's such an easy and simple bake:) 



Why I Chose To Become Vegetarian

My whole life, I have always wondered why someone would consider becoming vegetarian.. I mean who doesn't love meat?! - my auntie and cousin are vegetarian and I just couldn't come to terms why someone would restrict what they eat in such a drastic way.. I mean some animals are bread to be eaten, so why shouldn't we eat them?
It's safe to say that this was how I thought for 16 years of my life.. until November 2012 (when my ed started) I started to restrict my intake quiet drastically shall we say.
I was having very little protein, fat, carbs.. it was all minimal! At this point it never crossed my mind to become a vegetarian, however when I started to recover and began following recovery accounts on instagram I noticed a lot of pescetarians, vegetarians and vegans. It opened up my mindset alot to the way people ate and how things could be adapted.
I was always to scared to ask my mum if I could become veggie during my process of gaining weight and I knew she'd see it as another form of restriction (and it most likely would've been). From then on I was in awe of anyone that was allowed to be vegetarian, everything looked so healthy and delicious and It just seems such an interesting way of life.
After turning 18 and finally being weight restored (my mum seems to think i'm fully recovered now lol) I declared a few times to my mum that I've decided to become vegetarian, she never agreed with it and convinced me otherwise, but It suddenly clicked in my brain.. I don't want to become vegetarian because it's healthy and make me lose weight bla bla bla.. I decided I want to do this because I love animals and they have a right to live, so after contemplating it in my head for a few days and after a week of unintentionally not eating meat.. I finally came to the conclusion that I WANT to become a vegetarian.. not because my eating disorder has told me to, not because I think it's healthy or cool or whatever.. but for the right reason. And I am now proud to say that I am a vegetarian!
Despite my mum not really bothering to care whether I am or not.. she still makes rude comments that are unnecessary and makes me angry.. I suppose some people only think of them selves.

Chocolate Hazelnut And Strawberry Overnight Oats In A Jar (NOT Vegan)

Throughout the time I've spent in the recovery community of Instagram, it's safe to say I've discovered some new/odd/interesting flavor combinations and recipes through other peoples post, and believe it or not OOIAJ is one of them. Pre ed I had never heard nor seen such an amazing creation.. in fact 'Porridge' was never a thing I cared about too much (I was never a healthy child okay.. don't judge) however throughout recovery i'd have to say it was my go too breakfast/snack. It's safe for me as I'm sure it is for most recovering anorexics. But yes.. the combinations are endless and you could never get bored!
- Stove cooked oats
- Overnight oats
- Baked oats
- Eggwhite oats
- Pancakes
There's so many, I couldn't imagine that anyone would get bored of something so simple.. so fabulous! OKAY, enough rambling.. you guys just want the recipe right? It's so simple, I'm sure even a small toddler could make this. So no excuses!

Ingredients;

  • 30g of oats (you can use more if you desire, however I wouldn't recommend less than this)
  • 1 Sachet of hazelnut hot chocolate (options or highlights are the best choices)
  • 150g of Fage 0% Greek Yoghurt
  • 50-70ml of unsweetened almond milk (or usual milk)
  • A handful of strawberries
Method;
  • Weigh out 30-40g of oats, instant or rolled is fine! Put that in a bowl and weigh out 150g of Fage yoghurt (any greek yoghurt with work but I prefer Fage because it's so intensely thick and creamy yum!) Mix the yoghurt with the oats and add small amounts of milk until the consistency is how you like it! - I wouldn't recommend too runny because it will be difficult to eat, equally I wouldn't recommend too thick because It does thicken up slightly overnight!
  • Once the yogurt, oats and milk is all mixed it and looking faaaby! This is the point where you can go crazy frickin mental! Literally the flavor combinations for OOIAJ is endless.. however, for this recipe you simply add a hazelnut hot chocolate sachet.. or if you can't get your hands on them plain chocolate powder will work just fine and still yummy! 3 heaped teaspoons will be enough. Mix this in with the yogurty oats in the bowl until all the chocolate is mixed in and it smells like a delicious Nutella concoction.. mmmm.
  • Next, chop up the strawberries into little chunks and mix those in.. you can add as many or as little as your taste buds require! They taste heavenly with the Nutella flavor though! Once it's all mixed in and you're happy with how it looks pour into an air tight jar, seal and put in the fridge and leave over night! 
  • Lastly, wake up in the morning and jump out of bed with excitement because its BREAKFAST TIME aka best time of the day. Grab your jar out of the fridge and top with anything you desire! I chose more strawberries but you could put flaxseed, banana, peanut butter, biscuit spread, NUTELLA! Granola, cereal.. go wild! Grab your spoon and enjoy:)
Literally one of the easiest things to create.. no cooking necessary and It's great on a warm summer morning! Also perfect before work or school because all the prep is done the night before, so you can have that extra 10 minutes in bed ;)

Also, I get many questions / I see lots of people asking 'How do you make overnight oats' and all I can say is, use the base recipe of oats, yogurt and milk.. you can even use flavored yogurt if you want, and then just mix in different things you can find.. fruit works best! But just experiment and you will not be dissapointed!

Face Of The Day



AWKWARD ANGLE OF MY FACE. LOL

Anywhooooo, this is a post about my basic 'everyday' makeup.. i say everyday but it's not really, it's more an every day (if i'm actually doing something interesting) kind of makeup.

My usual makeup concists of Foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush, eyeshadow, eye liner, mascara and other bits and bobs! I thought I would show you some of the products I enjoy using on a daily basis and techniques I like to use! So I hope you enjoy this post and if you have any questions, comment below and I'll reply asap! YAY

This is a selection of some (or most) of the makeup I am wearing today. And I will post clearer photos of some of the products I used and explain in more detail how I use them.
Quick over view, Base products I used today, moisturizer (unpictured) is a Lush hand and body cream called Sympathy For The Skin, WHICH SMELLS LIKE OREOS!! It's the best, Primer is Maybelline  NewYork Baby Skin Instant Pore Remover, foundation, which I tend to change on a daily baisis, was the L'oreal Paris True Match foundation in Rose/Ivory. Under eye concealer is a Luminare Sleek Makeup one in the colour Light 1, and blemish concealer is the Collection lasting perfection in fair 1 (best concealer ever btw). Brozner is Mac Bronzing Powder in Matte Bronze, blush/highlight is a Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Petticoat. Face Contour Kit from Sleek Makeup in the colour, Light.
Eyeliner is the Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Precision Micro Eyeliner in Black. Mascara is also the Rimmel London Scandal Eyes in black. Eye shadow was a section of colours from the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. For eyebrows I used a Mac eyeshadow in Charcoal Brown Matte, and last but not least.. my favorite part! Lipstickkkkk, today I used a Mac Pro Longwear  Lipcreme in the colour Perpetual Flame. Which is a deep pink! So pretty.

Sorry if that rambled out way too much but I thought it would be better to tell you all the colours and products in one go:) a few of the products mentioned were obviously unpictured.
I'll post some tips and techniques I use when applying my makeup below! So keep reading beauties.

This is probably one of my most used foundations out of the ones I own, along with the Rimmel London Lasting Perfection which I also adore.
I wear this is the colour rose/ivory. It defintely have a medium-full coverage which I love along with my collection lasting perfection concealer, they make an excellent pair for those bad skin days!

I'ts very easily blended and leaves a dewy glow to the face. My most used technique for applying this is to pump a few squirts on the back of the hand and dip a real techniques buffing brush into it, apply to face with quick rounded brush strokes. I trend to start on one cheek and work my way down to my chin, onto my next check and then over my nose. (obviously adding more product when needed) and finally covering my fore head. I really enjoy using this product and would definitely recommend if your fair skinned, but I'm sure they have a wide range of colours for a 'True Match' to your skin tone!

100% one of my favourite and prettiest products I own! I use this as a mix of a blusher and a highlighter for my cheeks/brow bone! It gives a beautiful natural blush along with a shimmering highlight finish! This on it's own looks beautiful on top of foundation, no bronzer necessary! I adore it!
I usually apply this with a Real techniques Blush brush and smile so the apples of my cheeks prominent and I lightly brush the product on! This is a highly pigmented product however, so I would recommended tapping off any excess powder and build it up gradually to avoid 'over doing it'.

And last but not least, the product of the year! One of my all time favorite purchases that I would recommend to ANYONE that is even considering buying this product! GO DO IT, you wont regret it. Every single colour is unique and beautiful. Some shimmery, some matte, some metallic.. they're just amazing. I couldn't say a bad word about it. /its so pigmented and there's so many different colours to pair up. I love outing a light matte shade all over my lid, a light shimmer/metallic colour on the bottom of my lid near my lash line and then blending a darker shade into the crease of my eye. It looks so pretty and subtle. LOVE IT.

Peanut Butter Pancakes (NOT Vegan)

These pancakes are very similar to the 'Healthy Pancakes' I posted yesterday, however, for those who can't get hold of Weetabix, these are made with oats! So simple, easy and healthy :)

Ingredients;

  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 Ripe Banana
  • 20g-25g of oats (instant, rolled or old fashioned)
  • 2tbsp Peanut Butter


Firstly, you need a blender that can grind or chop! Basically a flat blade. If you don't then you might find these difficult to make. You need to blend the oats until they're a fine powder! Similar texture to flour. Next, add the eggs and banana and blend with the normal blade you would always use (could vary for different people) I found the flat blade didn't work for me!
Once everything is blended to a thick mixture, and the 2 Tbsp of peanut butter, not only will this add flavor but it will also thicken the mixture! And blend again. Test the mixture on a frying pan.. if it runs everywhere (kind of crepe like) then add more peanut butter until the consistency is right.
Pour small parts of the mixture onto the pan, cook on each side for approx 2 minutes on low heat or until golden brown. Once they're all cooked, experiment with different toppings! I recommend maple syrup or MORE PEANUT BUTTER (if you're cray cray like me) hahah!

Serve and enjoyyyyyyy:)

Healthy Pancakes (NOT Vegan)

Without a doubt, these are the best pancakes I've ever made. (although I haven't made many, they're still yummy) AND GUESS WHAT! They were 110% healthy with no added sugar, preservatives or hidden nasties.
And no, they weren't the disgusting 2 ingredient 'egg omelette' they were actual pancakes.. with a twist!


Ingredients;
  • 2 WHOLE eggs, not egg whites!!
  • 1 very ripe banana
  • 1 whole weetabix
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)







BASICALLY.. chuck it all in a blender, whizz it up and BAM, pancake batter.
And no, these won't work if you don't have a blender sorry!

Grab a non-stick frying pan and spray with 1cal spray or any oil, i recommend coconut oil if you're trying to be healthy! Pour a small amount of batter on (low heat) leave for about 30-60 seconds then test the edges to see if they are firm underneath, may need longer!
Once you are able to slide a spatula under, FLIP! Cook on other side and place on a plate ready to cook the next one. Repeat untill all batter is goooone. I  managed to get about 6 pancakes out of this, you could definitely get more if you make them slightly smaller and thinner but I prefer mine FLUFFY!

And finally, the best part.. TOPPINGS! Yum:) I reccomend maple syrup, peanut butter, yoghurt, rapsberries, blueberries, banana, chocolate chips! Go wild!
